Hello Friend,

Happy Fourth of July week. I hope you get outside and feel the summer.

District 2 is one of the most beautiful places to live in all of Southern California and I mean that. We have more conservation lands than any other district in Oceanside. We have beautiful parks like Fireside, Melba Bishop, LuiseΓ±o and Guajome. We have Whelan Lake Bird Sanctuary, where you can show up on a Saturday morning and watch the world wake up. We have the Mellano farm stand and miles of river trail to bike along. We have this incredible, living, breathing piece of the California coast and it is ours to take care of.

That is part of why I am running. Because the people who represent this district should love it the way we love it. Should know its parks and people by name. Should show up for its open spaces, its trails, its farms, and the neighbors who depend on them.

This week, go enjoy it. Bring your family Bring your neighbors. And when you see me out there, come say hi πŸ’“

πŸŽ‰ COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Celebrating Revolutionaries

We marched in the Freedom Days Parade on Saturday and I haven't stopped smiling since. The cheers from the crowd, the signs the kids made on the sidewalk, the crew who showed up and walked every block with us...it filled me all the way up.

Care and joy are our superpowers. That is what we brought to Coast Highway and that is what this campaign runs on. Turns out in the current political climate, that is pretty revolutionary.

Thank you to every single person who rode, walked, held a sign, cheered from the curb, or just smiled at us as we went by. You are the people. This is for you.

Revolutionaries rock.

πŸ—£οΈ SUMMER SERIES: We want to hear from you

This month we are launching the Summer Series of dialogues with Oceanside neighbors about the issues that matter most to our community, and I want you to be a part of it.

These sessions will bring neighbors together with community experts, online and in person, to connect and generate real ideas we can take to city hall. I have policy plans in mind but I know I don't have all the answers alone.

Sign up to get series announcements and tell us what issues you want us to take up.

Sunday July 12 we will be partnering with OceansideCleanup to host a dialogue on planning, growth and sustainability at our house. Hope to see you there!
