Hello Friend,

Community care is not a program. It is not a talking point. It is what happens when neighbors actually know each other well enough to notice when something is wrong and show up before they are even asked.

That is what I keep coming back to as we move through this summer. The strongest communities are not the ones with the most resources. They are the ones where people are connected. Where someone checks in on the elderly woman next door. Where parents know each other at drop off. Where if your car breaks down on a Tuesday, you already know who to call. That kind of network does not build itself. It takes intention. It takes practice. And honestly, it takes someone willing to knock on a door.

That is exactly what this campaign is built around. Not just winning an election but building the infrastructure of care that District 2 deserves to have long after November. This Sunday we are hosting another Canvassing & Community Care Networks training from 9 to 11am at our house. You will learn how to canvass in a way that builds real relationships and how to start weaving a care network right in your own neighborhood.

This is also the kickoff of our Summer Series, bringing people together all season long around the issues that matter most to D2. This Sunday's topic? Smart Growth. With all the change that the General Plan Update, the Safe and Sustainable Corridors program and SB79 are bringing to Oceanside, we need to be in regular dialogue with our neighbors about the challenges AND the opportunities this will present.

Come through Sunday. Bring a neighbor. This is exactly the kind of thing that changes a community from the inside out. ๐Ÿ’™

โ˜€๏ธSUMMER SERIES: SMART GROWTH โ˜€๏ธ

This Sunday, July 12 from noon to 2pm, we're kicking off our first Summer Series dialogue on Smart Growth, and I want you there.

This isn't me pitching you my candidacy. It's a real conversation about the future of Oceanside and what smart growth actually looks like for District 2. We'll dig into the issues together, hear from each other, and I'll share where I stand and why. Food will be provided and you will get the location in the Valley when you RSVP via direct message with our partner for this event OceansideCleanup. Hope to see you there!

Volunteers

This campaign is powered by neighbors working together to strengthen our community. Whether you have one hour or several, your help makes a difference โ€” and there's no better place to start than at our upcoming Canvassing & Community Care Networks training.

At this training, you'll learn how to have real conversations with neighbors, use our canvassing tools to reach voters across District 2, and plug into the mutual aid and relational organizing work that keeps our community strong.

Beyond canvassing and community care, our volunteer team is also planning events, shaping strategy, and building the kind of durable, people-powered campaign this district deserves. If you're interested in learning about campaigns, have special skills to share, or are simply looking for a community of value-aligned neighbors to do good work with, we want you here.
